Asian Tour: Indonesia

Third and last leg: Indonesia

Indonesia like Philippines consists of islands, but way much more, it consist of 17, 508 islands, wow!

One of which is Bintan, where my girlfriends/ college buddies/ BFF Len and Thess went for an overnight stay.

Bintan can be accessed by a 45-minute ferry boat from Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal in Singapore. It costs SG$ 43 for a round trip ferry fare.

Up unitl the previous day, we have not finalized our trip so we went to Bintan without any hotel/ resort reservations.

After the immigration procedures (it doesn’t really look like one!) , we went to the hotel/ resort booths and choose the cheapest accomodation! I told you, we’re on a budget trip!

So we booked for Nirwana Beach Resort for SG$ 120 (or is it 150? sorry memory gap) for a triple-pax cabana. It is a colorful-single-detached-village-style-huts, it really looks cute and very comfortable.

We were transported from the immigration building to the resort thru a free shuttle bus which picks and drops passengers from different hotels/ resorts. It already serves as a tour to the island.

After we threw in our bags, we went directly to the Pavillion Lounge to have our late lunch. Starved-to-death! Of course, we ordered Indonesian specialty. What I personally enjoyed is looking at the price of our lunch – a whooping IDR (Indonesian Rupiah) 498,500 ! haha, i feel soo rich! imagine our lunch is almost half a million rupiah, but it actually only cost SG$ 71.

Since we’re full, tired and it’s hot outside (noon), we had our sieta in our cute cabana.

After which he headed to Pasar Oleh-Oleh, a village full of sovenir shops.

Then, laze around the beach. Time to unwind and just forget about anything else. Not much of fellow tourists since we went there on a monday. It is usually jam-packed during weekends since it is famous for watersports and live parties.

Dinner time! So we went to the next resort barefoot and tried the food there.

Back at our little haven, not to sleep yet but to perform our ritual. Yup, we have this tradition way back in college, we played tong-its until the morning! I got lucky but when we converted my winnings it just like SG$ 5. We played also at Thailand and I think Len won there.

Slept till mid-morning then rushed to the restaurant to grab our free continental breakfast. Breakfast is served until 11am only.

Then, back to lazing at the beach. We got too comfortable that we didn’t even took a dip on the beach.

Time to check-out and go back to SG.

Time really flies fast when you’re enjoying.

I hope this is not our last trip together.
