Happy Eid! Eid Al Fitr marks the end of Ramadan. Eid is an Arabic word for festivity while Fitr means breaking (the fast), in totality means to celebrate the end of fasting.
Unlike regular holidays which is set by date like our Christmas is every 25th of December, Ramadan and Eids are dependent on the moon sightings. So until the last moment it still isn’t finalized if the 2 day Eid Al Fitr holiday will fall on 30th & 31st or 31st & 1st. We have to wait until for moon sightings and the official announcement on media.
Thus we cannot properly plan for our holidays. We are still hoping it will fall on the 31st so we will have 4 days holiday (Wed&Thur-Eid, Fri&Sat-Off). If it falls on the 30th we need to come to work still on Thurs. That is private companys’ dilemma, however for government offices here they have 9 days holiday which started from 26th to 3rd. Envious much.
Still, we have the 2 days holiday to rest and play.
